Accessorizing with Jewelry like a Pro

Diamonds may indeed be a girl’s best friend, in a fashion sense, for diamonds just about wears well with most anything. Other pieces of jewelry, however, can absolutely make or break any “Outfit of the Day”, so before you decide what your OOTD would be, it would be best to learn the basics of proper mix-and-match. Here are a few tips.

Focus on versatility – Try and consider this situation: if you try to opt to match your jewelry where a necklace is combined or matched with earrings or a bracelet, there’s a huge chance that the entire focus on the outfit would be on the jewelry and not you. A matching set isn’t always versatile. Also, if you try to take a single piece out of a set and wear it separately, it’s not interesting anymore. It would look bland, which is totally the opposite of what you intend.

Work around a centerpiece – The easiest way to accessorize properly is to pick one “statement” piece and work around it. It could be a watch, bracelet, necklace, ring, or anything. By adding smaller, less flashy pieces around it, you make the entire combination much more interesting.

Never forget earrings, ever – Celebrity stylist Marcus Stewart believes in the power of earrings to add a feminine and youthful touch to any face, and you should too. You can opt to leave only a pair or a single stud behind if you’re going for a specific look, but as much as possible, never leave the house without earrings.
