Trying to Get “Burned”

If you were a fan of the USA Network series Burn Notice or just a casual viewer who’s beginning to enjoy the show on DVD or BluRay, you may be enthralled by the adventures of Jeffrey Donovan’s character, Michael Westen. A closer look at his apparel, however, will yield more tidbits on why his alter-ego is a hit, with one item sticking out: his Chase-Durer Special Forces 1000XL UDT watch. If you’re looking for that kind of Burn Notice fix, a seller of designer watches in Point Pleasant Beach, NJ may hook you up with one.

Features
Donovan’s 1000XL UDT is a black case PVD version with model number 246.4BB7-XL-BR. It has many features common to several chronographs in its category, including a unidirectional, ratcheted bezel with 0-60 and 360-degree compass markers. Time-sensitive wearers may find ground in the 1/10th-second, 60-minute, and 12 hour elapsed-time function with lap time capability.

Not quite Skinny Dip
The 1000XL UDT is also a good choice for regular diving work if you’re up to it. The unit has been rated to a depth of 1,000 feet and the hands and markers are topped off by the 200 Micron Super-LumiNova illuminator.

As Donovan’s watch comes from a brand known to be a heavy hitter among aviation and military personnel, it can be a grand slam if you can get them fast. You may be wearing a piece of TV history.
